Worked OK for a day, then died. - nola2172 -
After waiting a bit to the TV (super saver shipping) received, I have a scheduled delivery and it arrived Monday. Monday I hooked everything and the TV is capable of detecting the appropriate channels (ATSC I have a big antenna) for me to receive HDTV over the air. Sound (through my surround) was good and everything seemed OK. On Tuesday I have my computer connected to the VGA port, and after a short interval, the lighting is off. I called Vizio support and after going to arepresentative, walked through a number of steps to determine that the backlight was dead, and the TV should be replaced. He gave me a number of things, has asked me to give him a email and said it would respond within 24-48 hours with instructions on how I could replace the TV. On Friday (60 hours later), I had not heard anything, so I called Amazon to settle into the TV back and get another one.
Vizio support was generally quite fast, but they do not run onwhat I call "useful" to consider supporting. The television itself was very good (good picture, easy installation), but if support is not terrible, I do not want to see what would happen if there was a problem after the Amazon return window 30 days.
The support of the Amazon, on the other hand, was quick to the point, and I've already placed another order on TV will be exchanged with my defective when the news (all in a few minutes on the phone with Amazon) .
